Delaware remains one of the smallest states in the US, next to Rhode Island. Located next to Chesapeake Bay, Delaware is all but 96 miles long in its entirety. Despite the small size, Delaware has extremely high and low lands which makes quite varied scenery for residents to enjoy!

Many who have bought homes in Delaware continue to enjoy the incredibly low taxes ranging from 2 to a little under 6 percent. There is no sales tax on consumers, and the business taxes are on the low side. There is also no state-level tax on real estate.

Delaware has many forms of transportation including ferries, railways and buses, although there is no air service. Delaware is actually one of the only states not having flight service! It’s rarely a problem since it is so small and the surrounding cities do indeed have air service. With only three counties, Delaware remains a great little east coast state to live in.
