It's a quaint 2000's stucco bungalow with lots of character and architectural details, such as dining room built-ins, a stone fireplace, and hardwood floors throughout. There are two good-sized bedrooms and a split bathroom with tub and shower. The adjoined dining and living rooms make for a bright, open, and welcoming space. The kitchen is large and sunny, with stainless steel appliances that include a gas stove and Bosch dishwasher. The cottage is a converted garage that would be great as a studio space or just for more storage. We also put lots of elbow grease into fixing up our cozy backyard, with a new deck, brick patio, and small garden. The foundation is reinforced, proper drainage around the perimeter of the house has been added, and the roof has been repaired. The location can't be beat -- walk to the North Berkeley BART station (10 min), Acme Bread (5 min), and Monterey Market/Gioia Pizzeria/Berkeley Hort (15 min). Cedar-Rose Park and the Ohlone Greenway are only 2 blocks away. Freeway access is easy and convenient, and street parking is abundant and permit-free. The 52 bus stop is right across the street, which makes for a quick ride to campus. Several more bus lines run nearby along San Pablo and University Avenues.
