We love the convenience of living in Cahaba Heights. Before kids, the name of the game was convenience to social life Centrally located, you can get to any of the most popular restaurants and venues in Birmingham, in less than 20 minutes. Even with kids, this area is still great for a low key date night, or high end dining for special occasions just minutes away. But you never have to leave Cahaba Heights, and the neighborhood is so family friendly. Cahaba Heights has quickly become the next walkable "village" in the over the mountain area, with numerous restaurants, ranging from yummuy burger "joints" to high end dining. If you're new to Birmingham, you have to love the amazing restaurants, as well as the ever expanding Birmingham Zoo, McWane Center, Regions Park (home of double-A baseball team, Birmingham Barons), Railroad Park, or the Alabama Symphony Orchestra just to name a few. Our family regularly walks to Publix, magic muffin, and other nearby shops. Whole foods or Trader Joes are only a few minutes drive. Breakfast and coffee at the Alabama Biscuit is fantastic. Shopping at the Summit is less than a 5 minute drive. Our family regularly goes for afternoon walks to Overton Park, on quiet streets and sidewalks, and new sidewalks continue to be added. Our young kids love riding bikes, trikes, and scooters in our protected driveway, playing in our low maintenance yard, or walking to Overton Park. Older kids could even bike to Cahaba Heights Elementary.
